With no doubt Nikon Monarch 10×42 ATB Binoculars are both lightweight and very easy to carry.

Even though Nikon Monarch series is great for general purpose it is excellent for those people out there interested in birding and hunting What makes this particular binocular such a good product is its standard roof-prism design.

The result is better light transmission and also brighter and better viewing. I said earlier that Nikon Monarch 10×42 is good for general purpose but I should add that it is perfect for kids because it is lightweight and relatively small.

But kids are not the only ones that like it. Friends of mine have told me that focusing and viewing are much more easier compared to heavier binoculars. Another thing that I like about Nikon Monarch 10×42 binocular is its rubber coating – it is comfortable and easy to grip at the same time.

It might not be very impressing but you will definitely appreciate it in inclement weather, when boating or when by the seashore.

Before you decide that Monarch 10×42 is what you need be warned that the small eye relief of 15.5. mm might feel a little strange for those of us out there wearing glasses For better slip control engineers at Nikon have rigged the central focusing wheel.

Unlike even more expensive binoculars Nikon 10×42 ATB requires only 1-1/4 turns in order to go from infinity to the close focusing distance of 8.2.feet.

Also ocular adjustment is provided. To avoid slippage during normal use an stiff enough eyepiece that rotates is provided. To improve optical performance even more Nikon Monarch ATB binocular comes with lens and prisms that are fully multi-coated.

It not only cuts down on internal reflection that’s the reason for viewing problems but also helps with apparent brightness.

One thing I didn’t like so much about Nikon Monarch 10×42 binocular is a very slight blurring at the edges of the fields of view. However I think I can live it with Nikon 10×42 comes with a case and strap and lens and eyepiece covers also. Another thing that is somehow disappointing is the lens caps.

The rely on the texture of the rubber binocular coating to hold them. However in my testing I found them to be very easy to remove them from their positions I must admit however that the rubber eyepiece covers were held tightly in place.

The strap I would say is ok – it gets the job done but I personally would replace it with one that is more comfortable and wider.

Nikon offers a nice warranty program for its Monarch 10×42 atb binocular – for $10 plus shipping they will replace yours in case that something happens to it.

In conclusion I should say that Nikon Monarch 10×42 ATB Binoculars are pretty good binoculars for birders, military staff, boaters and about any outdoor activity.

From my experience with it I should say that what I like about it is that it’s waterproof and shock proof. Also it is lightweight and easy to hold and carry around and has bright viewing. On the flip side Nikon Monarch 10×42 has some blurring at fringes of viewing, thin strap and its line caps are easy dislodged.

If you think that this binocular is what you need I want to share with you a website that I recently found. It compares prices, offers free delivery and 30 days money back guarantee in addition to manufacturer’s original warranty.
